BenQ PD2706U and ASUS ProArt PA279CV are both 27-inch 4K IPS monitors aimed at creative work. Either can suit photo editing, web design and office work. The more useful choice depends on your desk setup: do you need wider P3 coverage and a built-in KVM switch, or do you mainly need accurate sRGB work, two HDMI inputs and a highly adjustable stand?
The short answer is simple. PD2706U is the stronger fit for a two-computer desk or work that is genuinely delivered in P3. PA279CV is the simpler fit for sRGB and Rec. 709 work, especially if 65 W USB-C charging and two HDMI inputs cover your setup.

Start with the colour space you actually deliver
Both monitors cover 100% sRGB and 100% Rec. 709 in their published specifications. For websites, ordinary digital photos and video work that stays in Rec. 709, this gives each monitor a sensible starting point. A wider gamut alone does not make every project look better.
PD2706U adds 95% P3 coverage. That is useful when your work is intended for a P3 workflow or you need to view P3 material on a display that can show more of that colour space. If your files, applications and final output remain in sRGB, that extra coverage is not a reason by itself to choose the BenQ.
Do not compare the published Delta E figures as if they came from the same test. ASUS lists Delta E below 2 for PA279CV, while BenQ publishes its own calibration claims for PD2706U. The figures can be helpful as product information, but your colour-management workflow, the display mode selected and any calibration you perform matter more than a single number in a comparison table.
USB-C power is about the laptop you use
PD2706U supports USB-C power delivery up to 90 W. PA279CV supports up to 65 W. Both can carry display data over USB-C, so a compatible laptop can use one cable for video, charging and connected USB devices.
The difference matters only if your laptop asks for more than 65 W during the way you work. Check the power requirement of your own model rather than assuming a larger MacBook or Windows laptop always needs 90 W. If 65 W is sufficient, PA279CV keeps the one-cable setup. If it is not, PD2706U avoids relying on a separate charger for full power.
A two-computer desk is where PD2706U pulls ahead
PD2706U includes a KVM switch. In a compatible setup, that lets one keyboard and mouse move between two connected computers while the monitor changes input. It is useful for a work laptop and personal desktop sharing the same desk.
PA279CV has a USB hub and supports picture-in-picture or picture-by-picture, but ASUS does not list a KVM function in the Singapore specification. You can still connect several devices, yet you may need a separate USB switch if you want the same keyboard and mouse to follow the active computer.
PA279CV is more flexible for HDMI-heavy setups
ASUS lists two HDMI 2.0 inputs, one DisplayPort 1.2 input and USB-C on PA279CV. This is handy if you keep a laptop, desktop, console or media device connected at the same time. It also has four USB-A ports, which can reduce the number of small hubs on your desk.
PA279CV has a 0 to 150 mm height adjustment, tilt, swivel and pivot. That is useful for portrait documents, coding or a desk where the screen position changes between users. Its 100 × 100 mm VESA mount also gives you the option of an arm later.
Check the exact BenQ suffix before you decide
BenQ Singapore distinguishes PD2706U from PD2706UA by stand type. PD2706U uses a height-adjustable stand, while PD2706UA uses an Ergo Stand with a clamp design. The suffix is not a small detail if your desk has limited depth or you plan to use a monitor arm.
Also check the local seller’s exact model code, bundled cables, warranty and current specification. Manufacturers note that availability and bundles can vary by market. Do this before using a comparison article to choose a listing in Singapore.
My practical recommendation
Choose BenQ PD2706U if P3 work, up to 90 W USB-C power delivery or a built-in KVM switch will be used regularly. These are concrete workflow differences, not background specifications.
Choose ASUS ProArt PA279CV if your work is centred on sRGB and Rec. 709, 65 W charging is enough, and you value two HDMI inputs plus a stand with 150 mm of height adjustment. It is also a sensible choice when you want a 27-inch 4K monitor without paying for features you will not use.
Neither model is designed as a high-refresh gaming monitor. Both publish a maximum 60 Hz refresh rate, so choose a different class of display if fast competitive gaming is the priority.
